Tooth extraction

Tooth extraction is a dental procedure that involves removing a tooth from the mouth. This may be necessary for a variety of reasons, including tooth decay, infection, gum disease, or trauma.

How its done?

  1. The dentist will numb the area around the tooth using a local anesthetic. To minimize any discomfort during the procedure.

  2. The dentist will use specialized dental instruments to loosen the tooth and gently remove it from the mouth. In some cases, the tooth may be broken into smaller pieces in order to make it easier to remove.

  3. The dentist will clean the socket where the tooth was removed to remove any debris and bacteria.

  4. The dentist will apply a dressing to the socket to protect the area and promote healing.

  5. The dentist will provide instructions for post-operative care, including how to manage any discomfort and how to keep the mouth clean.

At the Lakes clinic tooth extractions are straightforward and relatively painless when performed by our skilled dentists. After the tooth has been removed, we can discuss options for tooth replacement, such as a dental implant or a bridge, in order to restore the function and appearance of your mouth.
